Lisa Marashian
Lisa grew up watching her artist father draw nearly every day. The world of art was instilled in her from an early age. Her high school and college notebooks were filled with sketches instead of the class notes she should have been taking. After college and while raising a family, drawing and art lay dormant. Then six years ago, after ending her 19-year marriage, she sat in the living room of her childhood home and instinctively asked her dad for a drawing pad and mechanical pencil. She started making art and hasn't stopped since.
During the Covid lockdown, evenings stuck inside became a fertile period for creating and flourishing. As a self-taught artist, Lisa honed her artistic eye, explored new techniques with ink and paint, and her work began to evolve into what it is today. Lisa's designs offer a conceptual view of organic shapes and movements, evoking the fractal quality of nature. Imagine a snapshot of a plant in the wind – the moving leaves frozen in time as they meet each other in the middle of that breeze to stop and say a quick hello. Lisa's signature linework and inviting color palettes bring life and movement to any space.
From brush to bolt
Step 01 — Sketch
It begins with cuttings and a sketchbook — working out which flowers, which gestures, which season.
Step 02 — Hand-paint
Each motif is painted by hand, full-scale. No two petals are quite the same.
Step 03 — Digitize
Paintings are scanned and cleaned up — colors trued, edges kept soft, brushwork intact.
Step 04 — Repeat & print
Built into a seamless repeat and prepped for your application — fabric, wall covering, or licensing files.

Lisa's patterns begin as original paintings and are developed into high-resolution repeat-ready files. Deliverables are 300 dpi TIF files at 15,600 pixels wide — print-production quality and ready to hand off directly to your manufacturer.
